Things to do in Dubai

Dubai is a world-renowned destination that offers a wide range of exciting activities and attractions. Whether you're interested in towering skyscrapers or pristine beaches, there's something for everyone in this vibrant city.

One of the most popular things to do in Dubai is to visit the Burj Khalifa. This iconic skyscraper is the tallest building in the world, and offers stunning views of the city from its observation deck.

For those who love to shop, the Dubai Mall is a must-see destination. With over 1,200 stores and a range of entertainment options, it's a shopper's paradise.

If you're looking for adventure, consider taking a desert safari. You'll have the opportunity to ride a camel, go sandboarding, and even try your hand at dune bashing. For a taste of local culture, head to the Dubai Museum, which is housed in a 200-year-old fort. Here you'll find exhibits on Dubai's history and traditions, as well as artifacts from the region.

Finally, no trip to Dubai would be complete without spending some time at the beach. With a range of public and private beaches to choose from, you can relax in the sun or take part in water sports like jet skiing and parasailing. There's so much to see and do in Dubai, and these are just a few of the many options available. So why not start planning your trip today and experience all that this amazing city has to offer?

Is Dubai safe? What is the crime rate in Dubai?

If you're planning a trip to Dubai, it's important to stay informed about crime and scam information to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Although pickpocketing and bag snatching can happen in the UAE, these types of crimes are rare. To avoid theft, it's important to take basic precautions such as not flaunting your cash, keeping your wallet or purse zipped shut, and keeping your bags close to you at all times. When entering markets, it's also recommended to have small amounts of cash ready for payment.

Unfortunately, incidents of physical and verbal harassment of women have occurred in the UAE, including sexual harassment and assault. In particular, underground walkways near the Abu Dhabi corniche have had multiple incidents of sexual assault on women walking alone. To stay safe, it's important to be extra cautious in this area and to avoid travelling alone if possible.

It's also worth noting that some taxi drivers in Dubai have been reported as a source of harassment. Women are advised to sit in the back seat and not to engage in the same kind of conversation they might have with taxi drivers in western countries, as even polite conversation can be misinterpreted as a proposition. This can be confusing and frustrating for travellers, but it's important to keep these cultural differences in mind and take appropriate precautions.
